Frequently Asked Questions¶
How do I use my cartographer for input shaping?¶
Note
For Simple AF for RPI series you might need to add a [resonance_tester] and [adxl345] section to
get this working, because many base printers dont have any input shaper defined!
This just needs a few changes in printer.cfg
You need to modify the [adxl345] section
Change the cs_pin from nozzle_mcu:PA4 to cartographer:PA3 (V3 Probe) or cartographer:PA0 (V4 Probe)
Danger
On V4 Cartographer Probe cartographer:PA3 is not the right pin, you must use cartographer:PA0! PA3 on V4 is used for something else, and will cause a potential boot loop of the probe.
Note
If you are using the cartotouch on Simple AF, replace cartographer: with scanner: in the configuration!
Then disable the following settings:
spi_speed: 5000000spi_software_sclk_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA5spi_software_mosi_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA7spi_software_miso_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA6
And add the following settings:
spi_bus: spi1axes_map: x, y, z
So your [adxl345] should look like:
[adxl345]
#cs_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA4
cs_pin: cartographer:PA3 or cartographer:PA0
spi_bus: spi1
#spi_speed: 5000000
axes_map: x, y, z
#spi_software_sclk_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA5
#spi_software_mosi_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA7
#spi_software_miso_pin: nozzle_mcu:PA6
I do not know if this is a good idea, I just know it's possible!
